Passport

We will provide assistance if one of the circumstances mentioned below occurs in connection with your passport.

I am in the Netherlands. My Dutch passport was issued in Curaçao and I no longer have it (lost or stolen).

  • File a report with the Dutch police.
  • You will receive a copy of the police report.
  • Together with the police report you proceed to the Register Office of one of the municipalities listed below in order to apply for a new passport:
    • The Hague
    • Bergeijk
    • Breda
    • Echt-Susteren
    • Enschede
    • Haarlemmermeer
    • Maastricht
    • Montferland
    • Oldambt
    • Tilburg
    • Venlo
  • Also take the following documents with you:
    • ID card from Curaçao (sédula).
    • Proof of Registration or Deregistration from Curaçao that states your nationality (maximum 3 weeks old).
    • 2 recent identity photographs that comply with the applicable requirements.
    • If you never lived in the Netherlands: your birth certificate.

I am not a resident of the Netherlands and my passport has expired.

You can apply for a new passport with the above municipalities. For that purpose, you need the following documents:

  • ID card Curaçao (sédula).
  • Proof of registration or deregistration in Curaçao stating your nationality (maximum 3 weeks old).
  • 2 recent identity photographs that comply with the applicable requirements.
  • If you never lived in the Netherlands: your birth certificate.

I am in the Netherlands and I will be going abroad within a few weeks. I need a travel document quickly.

You can apply for an emergency travel document with the Koninklijke Marechaussee (Royal Netherlands Military Constabulary) at Schiphol Airport. This is faster and easier than if you apply for a passport with a municipality. The Koninklijke Marechausee at Schiphol will need the following documents from you:

  • 2 recent identity photographs that comply with the applicable requirements.
  • ID card or driving license.
  • A valid airplane ticket.

Note: the same procedure applies if you are not registered in Curaçao!

I am in Curaçao and I lost my passport (stolen or lost).

Please take into account that there are costs involved with the issuance of a new passport or travel document. Without proper payment it is not possible to acquire new travel documents.
