Registering/deregistration Civil Registry in Curaçao

If you want to take up residence in Curaçao you must register with the Civil Registry Office in Curaçao. This applies to anyone who wants to live on the island for four months or longer. Minors (between 0-17 years) should also register.

For registration you must report in person to the Civil Registry Office:

Bevolkingsregister en Verkiezingen Curaçao (Kranshi) (Civil Registry Office)
Roodeweg 42
Willemstad, Curaçao
Telephone: (+5999) 434-1600
Fax: (+5999) 461-8166
Email: info.bsbv@gobiernu.cw

Amongst others depending on your home country you will be told which documents you must submit with your application. You will at least need a valid passport and proof of deregistration from a Civil Registry Office in your home country.

You will be registered immediately if all required documents are in order. The registration itself is free. Three days after the registration, persons aged 12 years or older must apply for a sédula/ID card, for which costs are charged.

If you are going to live abroad for more than eight months, you need to deregister with the Civil Registry Office at Willemstad. The Curaçao House cannot mediate on your behalf in this respect.
