Damen Shiprepair Curacao (DSCu) started with ship repair activities in the Willemstad harbor as from February 1st, 2017. With this action the Damen Group has now a total of sixteen repair and conversion yards worldwide. DSCu currently has two dry docks and 1.5 kilometers of quay to service its international customers with high quality service. DSCu recently expanded its current capacity with two floating docks.
Due to this expansion we are looking for a Welding Coordinator (40 hours).
>The Quality & Welding Coordinator assists the Quality & Development department to facilitate an effective Quality Management System at DSCu. Actively maintains certificates.
>Coordinates and initiates training required to obtain specific certificates by company and employees.
>Monitors and evaluates all welding processes and activities within the company and coordinates the implementation of new welding processes.
>Gives advice and guidance for all welding activities on the shipyard.
>Reports to the Production Manager.
>Leadership and strong communication skills, teamplayer.
>Secondary vocational training (MBO) level or equivalent and 5 years relevant experience in Welding SMAW, FCAW, GTAW and SAW.
>Good communication both oral & written in English; Spanish, Papiamento and Dutch are a pré.
